Long before ProWorxx, Steve and Barb Oehlerking were building businesses—and learning, from two very different perspectives, what it truly takes to serve people well.
Their first major venture together began with Apartment Hunters. What started as an entrepreneurial idea grew into Florida's largest apartment locating service and, eventually, an Inc. 500 company. Together, Steve and Barb worked with thousands of renters, property owners, apartment communities and real estate professionals. The experience taught them that growth does not come from making a single transaction. It comes from creating systems people can rely on and an experience they want to return to.
From there, their professional journeys expanded in different but complementary directions.
Steve Oehlerking
Steve continued building businesses, technology and operating systems across real estate, relocation, rentals and property management. As an investor and property owner himself, he understood the challenges of maintaining properties, coordinating services and finding professionals who could be trusted to do what they promised. His instinct was always to look beyond the immediate problem: How could the process be improved? How could technology create greater visibility? How could better systems make service faster, more accountable and easier to manage?
Barb Oehlerking
Barb's journey deepened her understanding of the human side of service. Through her work in event management, wedding planning and floral design, she learned that exceptional experiences are created in the details. Clients remember how clearly people communicated, how well they listened, how problems were handled and how the entire experience made them feel. Her success—including being named Floral Designer of the Year—came from combining creativity with an uncompromising commitment to quality and personal care.
Steve saw how better systems could transform service.
Barb understood how thoughtful service could transform an experience.
